The Ohio AAP is addressing smoking and vaping for the entire family through the Smoke Free Families (SFF) learning collaborative. Resources are provided to increase discussions and referrals to quitting resources for all families in the practice, including vaping education. 100% of practices in a previous wave of SFF have reported that these resources have improved their ability to counsel adolescents and their families on vaping. The project also provides free reminder postcards for patient engagement during COVID-19, and training on referring families to the Ohio Quit Line to receive free tobacco cessation services.
Wave 4 of SFF is accepting new practices now to kick-off this fall. Practices who enroll now can receive FREE vaping education cards, postcards, and other resources immediately, and additional resources throughout their participation.
