Attend Annual Meeting for Free! Two opportunities for Free Annual Meeting Registration

This year’s Annual Meeting on September 27-28 is set to be one of the best meetings you’ll attend this year. In addition to an array of great topics, Mona Hanna-Attisha will be presenting the keynote address about her experiences as a Flint, MI pediatrician and exposing the Flint water crisis.

You can attend for FREE this year by applying to one of our two Ohio AAP programs. Both opportunities close at the end of the month!

Shark Tank
The Ohio Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics will host two opportunities to share your ideas and projects with Annual Meeting attendees.

  • On Friday, present your work at Posters and Pinot: Wine, Cheese, and Poster Reception.
  • On Saturday morning, you will jump into the Shark Tank. Inspired by the popular TV show, Ohio AAP invites participants into the Shark Tank to present an idea that will improve Pediatric Practice and/or Child Health.

The winners will also have the option to further promote their work with one of the following:

  • One-page feature about the project/poster in the Ohio Pediatrics newsletter
  • Webinar hosted by the Chapter for the winner to present their project/poster to the membership

Important Information:

  • Poster submission and Shark Tank Applications due byJuly 30, 2019.
  • Groups/teams can present on poster/presentation together If you are selected for an oral or poster presentation, you will be notified by August 15, 2019.
  • You will be given 5 minutes to present your information which leaves room for two minutes for the “sharks” questions.
  • Posters will be presented at Ohio AAP Annual Meeting on both September 27 and 28, 2019 at the Hilton – Columbus/Polaris

Scholarship Opportunity
The second opportunity is through the American Dairy Association – Mideast. The Ohio AAP has partnered with the ADA – Mideast to offer scholarships to support attendance from rural communities at Annual Meeting. We ask that you complete this very brief application by July 31, 2019. This scholarship will cover the registration fees associated with attendance. Ohio AAP membership is recommended, though not required, to apply. Three scholarships will be awarded.
