Ohio AAP Spring Meeting Returns In-Person for First Time in Two Years!
Last Friday Ohio AAP hosted our Spring Meeting Education at Ohio University Inn in Athens, Ohio. For the first time in over two years, we were happy to meet safely in-person with members, leadership, and local representatives to educate, network, and discuss the important topics affecting Ohio’s pediatricians and children!
Beginning with Screening for Risks and Utilizing Services in Ohio AAP’s Smoke Free Families (SFF) Program, SFF Medical Director Dr. Mike Gittelman, presented how pediatricians can maximize their screening processes for smoking in the home and billing practices for reimbursement. Next, Dr. Ujjwal Ramtekkar provided an in-depth look into the mental health crisis with, Adolescent Behavioral Health: Anxiety & Depression During an Ever-Changing Time. He was joined by local representative Cathye Williams from Integrated Services for Behavioral Health-Athens, to provide additional insight and resources for the local community. To view a recording of this presentation, please visit https://ohioaap.org/education-cme-moc-ii/preventive-health-program/. We ended the day with a dynamic group discussion on how Ohio pediatricians can compete in the ever-evolving world of healthcare and protect the pediatric medical home with The Future of Pediatrics-Disrupters in Primary Care.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to our Spring Meeting exhibitor, CeraVe, for providing support and helping us bring this important education to our members!
It was a great afternoon filled with informative free educational content and allowed attendees to leave with resources and tools to help patients grow to be healthy! Thank you to all our attendees, presenters, and staff for making this year’s Spring Meeting such a huge success!
