New, Free Smoking Cessation Resources and Trainings Available

The Ohio AAP’s Smoke Free Families (SFF) team recently conducted two trainings to further spread the resources of the program. Participants in the one-hour webinars learned the basics of smoke exposure, discussing smoking cessation with families, and how to find free Ohio based resources. Over 110 multi-disciplinary providers from across Ohio joined to help spread the SFF message to families in any setting.

Now you can also access these trainings and new resources on the Smoke Free Families websiteIncluded on this page are a variety of resources that can be implemented in pediatric primary care, subspecialty or other family serving settings. Some of the items available for immediate download or reference:

  • 1 hour trainings for healthcare providers or community professionals
  • NEW 1 page implementation guide, with sample talking points and quick reference resources
  • Smoking cessation handouts tested in six waves of SFF with pediatric primary care practices
  • Resources and links for safe sleep, community services, smoking and vaping
  • Video tutorials ranging from 4 minutes to 2 hours, on a wide variety of topics related to the SFF project
