Last Chance to Enroll in Smoke Free Families Project and Earn $3,000 this Year!

Reducing tobacco smoke exposure lessens risks immediately for infants, such as sleep-related deaths and asthma. Over a child’s life, less home smoke exposure can mean less repeat sick visits for problems like respiratory and ear infections, and healthier caregivers. The Ohio AAP’s Smoke Free Families (SFF) program is now offering practices an opportunity to promote lifelong health for the entire family while earning immediate benefits for providers.

Finding ways to seamlessly incorporate practice transformation, earn QI credit, and ensure financial viability for projects is more important than ever. Wave 6 of SFF features a streamlined process built on feedback from pediatricians who have completed the program. Receive necessary training and resources to help get credit for many efforts already in place – such as screening to reduce tobacco smoke exposure and promote safe sleep for infants – with minimal new steps to implement into your busy practice.

SFF Wave 6 will run in practices from May – November 2022, providing participants:

  • $3,000to support project implementation
  • 25 points of MOC Part IV credit
  • FREE sleep sacksand board books to provide to your patients
  • Learn to maximize your reimbursementfor screening for smoke exposure
  • Virtual training from an Ohio AAP practice coach – no travelfrom your practice required
  • No chart reviews– all data collection is completed through a one page tool

Practices will engage in a Learning Session webinar on May 17, with the final enrollment deadline of May 20. To learn more or register for the project, please contact Program Manager Hayley Southworth at or 614-846-6258. You may also visit:
