Supports the Chapter to advocate for the physical health, mental health, safety and education, and prevention of cruelty of Ohio’s infants, children, adolescents and their families; and advance the education and research to benefit infants, children, adolescents and their families.

Recent Successes: 

  • Breakfast, Books and Bears Fundraiser – 2015
    • Over 175 guests in attendance, including 79 foster children and their parents, as well as Guest Reader Troy Smith.
    • Raised over $17,000, a 20% increase from the 2014 Fundraiser
  • Bike Helmet Safety Awareness Week 2015
    • Through partnership with ODOT, over 9,300 helmets were distributed to 110 partners in the state
    • 26 million media impressions
  • Glow Ball Fundraiser – 2015
    • 30% increase in attendance from 2014 event
    • $5,300 raised with the fun event at Blackhawk Golf Course
  • Part II MOC – Foster Care
    • The Ohio AAP Foundation was proud to support the efforts of the Chapter in the development and introduction of the first Ohio AAP authored Part II MOC Self-Assessment, focusing on the Foundation Signature Program area of Foster Care
  • Safe Sleep Media
    • The Ohio AAP conducted a media campaign to raise awareness of infant mortality prevention through safe sleep beginning in April 2014, with total media impressions of over 21 million in just 15 months. Targeted media efforts have included the #SayNoToBumpers campaign in December 2014 – January 2015, and support of National Child Abuse Prevention month in April 2015.
