A Special Message From Dr. Paul Offit for Ohio AAP Members

On September 21-22, 2018, over two hundred pediatric superheroes will descend upon the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dublin to strengthen their knowledge on important topics and earn up to forty points of MOC Part II credit.

This year, Annual Meeting will kick off with luncheon fundraiser for the Ohio AAP Foundation Pillar, featuring a Keynote presented by Tara Haelle.  As an international expert story teller, author of Vaccination Investigation and TED talk influencer, Tara will provide a history of caregiver immunization fears, and give providers and advocates strategies that are rooted in both science and empathy to improve immunization health. Much of her work on vaccine refusal and controversies takes a deep dive into published articles about various vaccines, and fights back with science to help save children’s lives. Tara will share real stories and give compelling talking points that you can you use with families to promote vaccine health. Notably, she challenged the vocal anti-immunization activist Dr. Bob Sears and debunked the film Vaxxed, which used production tricks instead of facts to induce fear.

Immunization expert and Director of the Vaccine Education Center at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Dr. Paul Offit recorded a special message for Ohio AAP members about our Annual Meeting.

Dr. Offit has worked with Tara and was quick to endorse her, sharing, “Tara Haelle is one of those rare journalists who chooses perspective over false balance. For this reason, she gives her readers a fighting chance to make the best decisions for their health and the health of their children.” Our 2018 Annual Meeting will bring you face-to-face with Tara Haelle and many more expert speakers and passionate colleagues. You will leave the meeting with NEW super powers to care for Ohio’s children!
