Screen and Intervene to Encourage Smoke Free Homes for Children Birth to 1 Year of Age

Earn Part IV MOC Credit with the Ohio AAP’s Smoke Free Families Ohio Learning Collaborative. This project will teach primary care physicians how to implement a screening and intervention strategy for caregivers and smoking family members of children age Birth-1 year.

The Ohio AAP’s Smoke Free Families Ohio learning collaborative aims to build upon the existing relationships between primary care providers and families by addressing caregiver and family member smoking behavior early in a child’s life. A screening tool has been developed for easy implementation into clinical practice to allow providers to seamlessly screen for family member smoking and utilize the 5As (Ask, Advise, Assess, Assist and Arrange) for smoking cessation.

The learning session will be held during annual meeting on Saturday, October 28, 2017 in Dublin. We anticipate spots will fill up quickly.  Please contact Kristen Fluitt at kfluitt@ohioaap.org if you are interested in learning more.
