ODH/Ohio AAP Committee on Children With Disabilities Meeting

We are happy to announce the renewal of the combined ODH/Ohio AAP committee on children with disabilities.

Friday, October 18, 2019
Ohio AAP Office
94-A Northwoods Blvd, Columbus, Ohio 43235
Lunch: 11:30 am; Meeting: 12:30-3:30 pm

The meeting will serve two purposes. The first is to fulfill the mission the Medical Advisory Council (MAC) of CMH which is to advise the director of ODH on the administration of the program for children with medical handicaps. We will review operations of the program and receive reports from the committees, especially the Parent Advisory Council (PAC).

The other purpose is support community clinicians, particularly those who are members of the Ohio chapter of the AAP, who are caring for children and families with special healthcare needs, including those with conditions that might not be eligible for CMH. Many children with chronic conditions, some with medical complexity, are not eligible for CMH because of uncovered diagnoses (e.g. autistic spectrum disorders) or because of family income requirements. The combined committee will consider how the OAAP and CMH can work together to support community clinicians in their efforts to deliver comprehensive, compassionate and coordinated care in a medical home for all children and youth with special healthcare needs.
