It is Bike Helmet Safety Awareness Week in Ohio

It is Bike Helmet Safety Awareness Week in Ohio (May 9-21, 2016) and the Ohio Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics’ Put A Lid On It! Campaign is in full swing! The Ohio AAP, in a partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation, distributed more than 10,000 helmets to organizations and agencies around the state. Those organizations are holding events all month long to give out the bike helmets to children.

What else can you do? Take steps to encourage helmet use, even if you only have five minutes!

  • Encourage your Ohio legislators to participate in Bike Helmet Safety Awareness Week and support legislation requiring helmet use by sending a letter, email or making a phone call. Find your representative here.
