Free Obesity Prevention Trainings Across Ohio

The Parenting at Mealtime and Playtime (PMP) team and the Ohio Chapter, American
Academy of Pediatrics are excited to bring these regional trainings to you this year! More than 200 child healthcare providers attended trainings in 2016.

The PMP program fuses nutrition and play guidance with the parent-child interaction during meals, playtime and daily structure. The trainings, being offered across the state, provide an innovative, sustainable approach to building healthy habits among birth to five-year-olds. Gain resources on:

  • Prevention counseling strategies
  • Risk assessment skills
  • Communications with families about childhood obesity and the importance of early intervention

The training will help providers enhance their obesity prevention skills, with each participant receiving a “swag bag” of resources, compliments of the Ohio AAP. We invite you to learn how to address obesity concerns and start healthy weight discussions.
