The Ohio Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics is pleased to offer On-Demand Learning opportunities in many topic areas, including mental wellness, immunizations and adolescent health.

Mental Wellness

 

Building Mental Wellness (BMW) Online Modules – The Ohio Chapter of the American BMWlogoCenteredAcademy of Pediatrics’ (Ohio AAP) Building Mental Wellness (BMW) Learning Modules are designed to help you address these challenges in your practice through training and tools that can be quickly implemented to help your patients and their families. These modules are FREE and for use by anyone who provides care for children in Ohio and nationwide. Eligible providers will receive 0.5 – 1.5 CME/CEU credits upon completion of each module (20 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes in length). In order to receive credit, users will need to view the module, complete a post-test and fill out a brief commitment to change form.

Immunization Education

 

MOBI-TIES The Ohio Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics’ Immunization Programs aim to educate health care providers on evidence-based strategies to overcome barriers to childhood and adolescent immunizations. The immunization team brings you three on-demand learning opportunities to help raise immunization rates and fully protect patients from vaccine-preventable diseases.

  • Maximizing Office Based Immunization (MOBI) – Rebecca Brady, MD, FAAP focuses on providing education about childhood immunizations to health-care providers with a focus on office-based practice and that all two year old children be immunized according to the ACIP schedule.
  • Teen Immunization Education Sessions (TIES) – Robert Frenck, Jr., MD, FAAP trains practices in evidence-based strategies to overcome barriers to adolescent immunizations with a goal of all adolescents being immunized according to the ACIP schedule.
  • Human Papillomavirus Vaccines: Opportunities and Challenges – Kristen Feemster, MD, MPH, MSHPR, FAAP will explain current trends in HPV-related disease, the safety and efficacy of the immunization, key barriers to series completion and important strategies to improve rates in boys and girls.

Adolescent Health

 

  • Expanding Options for Adolescents with Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) – Elise D. Berlan, MD, MPH and Jo Taylor, MSN, RN, CNP present this webcast on the use of LARC in the United States among adolescents. They will describe IUDs and contraceptive implant, recommendations for use in adolescents, dispel persistent IUD and implant myths, and offer practical tips to improve LARC use in your practice.
